Filming Industry

The most popular films will have been produced through one of the 6 Hollywood major studios (shown above except working title). These Large Studios dominate the film industry and the cinemas with a mass audience wanting to watch their next films.

Hollywood studios have either created or bought their own independent brands, which are run separately from the studio and most likely create 'non mainstream films' for example, 'MIRAMAX' (owned by Disney) and USA Films (owned by Universal). In reality we would like our film to be involved within the independent companies that are owned by the larger conglomerate studios. This is because the funding and distribution would be on a larger scale.

•  Non-mainstream films may receive more attention from 'serious', 'high art critics'
• Some stars may work in the non-mainstream film because of the high art status, and they would draw attention from the audience.
• Our film may be seen in independent film magazines and festivals.

We are in the process of making out promotional package for our film 'Rendezvous'. We would like to require help from an independent company such as Working Title Productions, to produce, exhibit and distribute our film, as we would be able to show our Noir film in independent art houses and cinemas.

 

FUNDING

We would get the funding from BFI, The National Lottery- there will also be funding from conglomerates - as Working Title Productions is owned by Universal.
